Another countdown!
It's that time of year again...................'Scrouge' in the form of 'Time' is getting the best of the holiday events. Families are like the ripples in a pond. Drop another member in the mix and the ripples spread out farther and farther away.
Don't get me wrong. It's NOT a bad thing to have big families,  It's not being able to make everybody happy with a schedule that  "works" that can be so frustrating. Jobs, in-laws, and lots of other commitments are all part of "Time" scrambling the holidays into a rushed affair, or a crunched schedule where we all have to make choices about where we will be during our holidays.
I've been thinking so much about our families and the changing dynamics that are under way. It was once about my siblings and bringing our children to the family gatherings at our parents home.
Now the time has come for our children and where they need to go for the holidays. They are adults with children of their own and/or in-laws to please. The chain of family has grown in length and it's time, in my mind, to change the way we do family gatherings. When we dread the holidays all because of the stress of  never having enough 'Time", then we need to change something. It's about the 'Time'  we spend with people, not the gifts we can exchange. Spreading ourselves too thin makes it so easy to have families crack apart over the stress of 'Time".
I'm thinking that there has to be a solution to families having time together without stress! I'll be on the lookout to find a better solution to a 'time wornout family problem'. If your reading this and you have a suggestion or solution----please let me know. My family could use a good answer.
