Happy Easter!
A time for counting our blessings and looking forward to a new season.
This morning while enjoying my coffee I was reflecting back on wisdom shared with me from my grandmother. She wasn't a grandmotherly, huggy, type of person, but a woman who had weathered the storms of life and come out a stronger woman. She passed away 17 yrs. ago at the grand old age of 96, living alone the last years of her life and enjoying that peace and quiet. She managed to plant a small garden, walk to her mail box, and still shoot the possom that was after her cat food on the back porch. Not bad for a lady that was 96 yrs old..
She buried one husband, divorced the second and also had children pass on before her. Life wasn't easy for her, but she always had a positive outlook on life even at age 96. Her philosophy on life seemed to be: take one day at a time, stay away from drama, mind your own business, use what you have, and enjoy the moments you are given. Take time to reflect on the good in your life and be thankful. The best advice was to listen to the small voice inside you for the best direction and advice. Let the spirit fill you with direction!
Grandma Bessie you are missed as well as so many others who have passed on. Your words still echo from time to time in my head and heart. I hope to age as you did, by being appreciative of the moments I  have and the time I am given.
I want to weather the storms of my own life and still see the beauty in the little things.
